Frozen Birthday Party - Gift Bags!

Here are some pics of the gift bags we gave to our guests at the party.

We gave some snow science with the gift bag. We purchased fake snow and ice cubes from Steve Spangler Science website and I bought some little storage containers off eBay (DecoJars). Sadly/humorously it looked like I gave the kids a dime bag on their way out. LOL I made the "Don't Eat Me" cards that had general instructions on how to make the science.

We also bought LED ice cubes that can be several different colors or rotate through the colors automatically. They are water safe and can be placed in drinks.

I have some left over gift bags and will be reselling them either on Etsy or eBay. I will post the link once I get the listings up.

Frozen Birthday Party - Olaf, Crowns, Reindeer Antlers, & Fun

Here are some additional random pictures from my daughter's birthday party.

The Olaf balloon was purchased from eBay and filled up the morning of the party at our local grocery store. We put window snow on all of the downstairs windows, front storm door, and bathroom mirror. The mirror said "Do You Wanna Build a Snowman?" with a snowman picture. So cute but hard to photo!

The hats were created using a template from this site. She was nice enough to post the template for downloading - though I did have to adjust the size to create a good effect on the kiddos. The snowflake balloons went on the mailbox. We purchased blue twinkle lights for additional effect.

Almost all of our decorations for the April 5th party were purchased from Target and Micheal's after the Christmas holiday season at the end of December. We got everything 60-90% off and just tucked it away for the big day!

Frozen Birthday Party - Food!!!

Because you can't have a party without FOOD!!!

I tried not to go too crazy on different/creative food. I spent the majority of my preparation time on decor. I did make blue jello following the jigglers recipe - then cut it into squares to resemble Kristoff's ice cubes. There was a standard veggie tray, a bowl of strawberries/grapes, veggie sticks, hot dogs, rock candy, and marsh mellow pops. Simple and easy to prepare. Again - we spent most of the day hanging outside decorations. That was one thing in advance I couldn't hang because of the rain the night before.

Frozen Birthday Party - Snow Falling from Ceiling & Amazing Lighting

The ceiling decorations and ambiance was by far the best part of the party! I had over 220 paper cut snowflakes hanging from the ceiling and over 40 snow ball flurries mixed in as well. My husband made icicles from some foam board we had (literally) laying around. While the snowflakes were the mix of really only 4 designs, they looked different because of all of the different paper types and colors I used; everything from velum, to card stock, glitter paper, metallic paper...etc. I even made a few Star Wars themed snowflakes for my husband. Almost all items will be posted in a lot on Etsy if you wish to purchase.

The blue and purple lighting is NOT a filter on the camera or a photoshop effect. My husband purchased Philips Hue bulbs for our kitchen a while ago. These light bulbs are amazing. They can be any color you want them to be, change color on a rotation based on your settings, flash with music, create a strobe thunderstorm effect...etc. I think right now they only place you can purchase these is via the Apple store. There are 2 different kinds - the kind for the recessed lighting and the other for lamps and such.

Frozen Birthday Party - Screen Porch Decorations

We were very lucky with the weather last Saturday for the birthday party. There was no wind, so we could decorate our screen porch with detail and not have to worry about it blowing away. I strung snowflakes and snow flurries from each of the "windows" and added fake snow to the main table. (For more info on the decorations, please see separate posting).

Frozen Themed Cupcakes w/ Character Rings

I was super happy with the way the cupcakes turned out. I decided a few days before the party to go with glitter snowflake toppers. There was a ton of left over glitter card stock, so I went to town making more snowflakes. I also purchased some Frozen character rings to use on top of the cupcakes. I didn't have enough for all the cupcakes, but it worked out. I just placed 2 snowflakes on those with no rings. I think it added a nice variety to the presentation.

I made 3 boxes of cupcakes for the party. Two boxes were Cake Boss Blue Suede and a separate box of just white. I mixed the 2 together in the muffin cups before baking. The icing was done in either blue raspberry frosting or a standard white vanilla. The cups were just foil cups from Target.

Sneak Peak: Bridget's 4th Birthday Party - Frozen

As a sneak peek into Bridget's 4th birthday party - here's a shot of the invites I sent out last week.

I made the invites in photoshop and sent them to Walgreens to print on matte paper. I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the larger snowflakes and included 2 in each card. I purchased the envelopes off eBay and was happy with the color matching! The glitter and snow effect included in the invite is a sneak peak of more to come!!

Today my husband crafted some background decorations and I put together the gift bags (less the candy I haven't purchased yet) and made some snow effects. We are a month out and still have so much more to do!
